Ebenezer sits on Highway 9, about 18 kilometres north of Yorkton, in the Rural Municipality of Orkney No. 244.
The first settlers arrived between 1885 and 1887, mostly German-speaking Protestants. They named their new community after Eben-Ezer, a place mentioned in the Books of Samuel in the Old Testament.
Ebenezer incorporated as a village on July 1, 1948. More recently, high speed internet became available there in 2015.
